Martin Sheen

This has been my best success to date! I wrote to this great actor back on the 27th of October, just one week ago. He is the star of dozens of movies, including one of my favorites, Apocalypse Now, and was the star of the long-running tv show “The West Wing”. Not only did he send me an autographed photo but he also returned the letter I had mailed to him. At the bottom of the letter he wrote a handwritten thank you note to me and dated and signed it. What a great actor and very kind to his fans!

His films include “Badlands”, “The Execution of Private Slovik”, “The Little Girl who lives down the lane”, “Apocalypse Now”, “The Dead Zone”, “Wall Street”, “The Final Countdown”, “Ghandi”, “Firestarter”, “Cadence”, “Gettysburg”, “The American President”, “Bobby”, “The Departed” and countless others. In his great career, he has tallied credits in over 210 different Television and Film projects. He has been nominated for nine Emmy Awards with one win, and Eight Golden Globe Awards with one win. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk-of-Fame and is the father of actors Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez. He is a noted and respected activist for many liberal causes.

**Update – Feb. 24, 2009 – As I continue with the hobby, I am finding that Martin Sheen has by far and away the best reputation in the autograph collecting world. He is gracious to all his fans and personalizes most all of his autographs. I have always been a huge fan of his and since I started collecting autographs and reading about the hobby, I have never read an ill word about the man. He is a true class act!

Another Update – March 13, 2009 – I wrote a short note to Martin Sheen last week, thanking him for his signed photo again and letting him know how much of a positive impact he has had on my newfound hobby. I am afraid these Stars get buried in fan mail and many, like Martin Sheen, will take the time to send out photos and answer letters, but many times they do so without any thanks. So, I just dropped him a note, let him know how much I appreciated the kind way he treats his many fans, and wished him well. Today, I got a nice card in the mail from him. It is handwritten from him, and in it he thanks ME for taking the time out of MY day to write him a thank you letter! What a truly nice man. His signed photo will always be front and center on my wall.
