
Larry Gelbart (1928-2009)
Writer and Playwright Larry Gelbart is best known as the creative force behind the long-running TV show M*A*S*H. His film writing credits include: Bedazzled, Blame it on Rio, Tootsie, Neighbors, Oh God!, and others with his TV writing credits including M*A*S*H, and Threes Company. He was nominated for two Oscars, 12 Emmy Awards (1 Win), 1 Golden Globe, 3 Tony Award wins, and 8 Writers Guild of America Award nominations, of which he won 7. I e-mailed him in November of 2008 and he was kind enough to send me this personalized M*A*S*H card. Larry passed away on September 11th, 2009 after a long battle with cancer.
