Back in the 1970′s when I was a kid, I used to write to my favorite sports stars for autographs. Although I now collect celebrity autographs for a hobby, I had all but forgotten about these sports star successes until I ran across a site on the Internet that was selling classic sports stars autographs for an arm and a leg. I dug out an old album and found this trio of classic Quarterbacks. Bart Starr was the greatest QB in Green Bay Packer history (prior to Brett Favre) and is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Fellow Hall of Famer Bob Griese was the QB of the Miami Dolphins during the 70′s and Steve Grogan was the QB of the New England Patriots during the late 70′s and early 80′s. The drawing of Bart Starr was sketched by my Dad and then colored by myself. I then mailed the pic to him and he signed and returned it. It was probably obtained around 1977 or 1978, the same time frame as the other 2 photos displayed here. I also got an OJ Simpson autograph during that period, which I still have, but I will not display on my wall for obvious reasons.
