
Actress Mary Tyler Moore (Born 1936 in Brooklyn, NY) is best known for her roles on two of the biggest hit shows on TV during the 1960′s and 1970′s. In the 1960′s, she co-starred with Dick Van Dyke on “The Dick Van Dyke Show”. She then went on to star on her own self-titled show, “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” from 1970-1977. Over her career she has won 6 Emmy Awards, 3 Golden Globe Awards, and has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress in 1981 for her role in the film “Ordinary People”. She has guest-starred on a number of series including “That 70′s Show”, “Lipstick Jungle”, “Ellen”, “Rhoda”, and “Phyllis”. She has also won 2 Tony Awards for roles she performed on Broadway. She and ex-husband Grant Tinker founded MTM ENTERPRISES, one of the most successful television production companies in Hollywood.
