Kurtwood Smith (Born 1943 in New Lisbon, WI) is a noted American Film and Television actor. Best known for two distinctly different roles. He was homicidal killer Clarence Boddicker in the film “Robocop” and then played gruff, but lovable, Dad Red Foreman on the long running sitcom “That 70′s Show”. His extensive film career includes roles in films such as “Robocop”, “Deep Impact”, “A Time to Kill”, “Broken Arrow”, “Fortress”, “Shadows and Fog”, “Quick Change”, “Dead Poets Society”, “Rambo 3″, “Staying Alive” and many others. In addition to his work on “That 70′s Show” he has appeared on shows such as “Newhart”, “The X-Files”, “3rd Rock from the Sun”, “Psych”, “House”, “24″, “Medium”, and the current CBS Show “Worst Week”. Was chosen for his signature role as Red Foreman only after actor Chuck Norris had to drop out of the show. I cannot imagine anyone else saying “Dumb ass” as good as Kurtwood Smith, especially not Chuck Norris!
