Rob Reiner (Born 1947 in The Bronx, NY) is an Emmy Award winning and Academy Award and Golden Globe Award nominated American Actor, Producer, Director, Writer, and Activist. The son of Hollywood Icon Carl Reiner, he started out in TV landing guest roles on shows such as “Batman”, “The Andy Griffith Show”, “Gomer Pyle USMC”, “Dragnet”, “The Odd Couple”, and many others before landing the role that truly made him famous. From 1971-1978 he portrayed the character of Liberal Son-in-Law Mike “Meathead” Stivic on the classic sitcom “All in the Family”. The role earned him 5 Emmy Award nominations with 2 wins and 6 Golden Globe nominations. After “All in the Family” he cut back on acting and instead concentrated on Directing. His first feature film was the 1984 classic “This is Spinal Tap”, a movie that I have always had in my personal top-10 of the funniest movies of all-time. He has gone on to direct other major hits such as “The Princess Bride”, “A Few Good Men”, “Stand by Me”, “Misery”, “The American President”, “When Harry met Sally”, “Rumor has it”, “The Bucket List”, “Ghosts of Mississippi”, and many others.
