He rose to fame on the popular 1970′s sitcom “Welcome Back Kotter” in which he starred as Vinnie Barbarino. He then went on to movie fame in such films as “Carrie”, “Saturday Night Fever”, “Grease”, “Urban Cowboy”, “Staying Alive”, “Look Who’s Talking”, “Get Shorty”, “Broken Arrow”, “Pulp Fiction”, “Faceoff”, “Swordfish”, “Ladder 49″, “Michael”, “Basic”, “Wild Hogs”, “Hairspray”, “Primary Colors”, “The Taking of Pelham 123″, “Old Dogs”, “From Paris with Love”, and many others. He has earned Best Actor Oscar nominations for his roles in “Saturday Night Fever” and “Pulp Fiction”. He has been nominated for a total of 7 Golden Globe Awards with 2 wins. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk-of-Fame. He is married to actress Kelly Preston.
