
Huey Lewis (Born 1950 in New York, NY) is an American Singer, Songwriter, and Actor, best known as the lead singer of the popular group “Huey Lewis and the News”. The band burst onto the scene in 1980 and had a long string of hits including “Do you believe in Love?”, “The Power of Love”, “Workin for a living”, “I want a new drug”, “Hip to be Square”, “Jacobs Ladder”, “Perfect World”, “Walking on a thin line”, “Back in Time”, “The Heart of Rock and Roll”, “If this is it”, “Stuck with you”, “Couple days off”, “It hit me like a Hammer”, “Small World”, “Heart and Soul”, “I know what I like”, and many others. In their long career, the band has sold more than 30 Million records and has charted 12 Top-10 hits on the Billboard Music Charts. The band has won 2 Grammy Awards and their song “The Power of Love”, from the film “Back to the Future”, was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song. Huey Lewis has also appeared as an actor in a number of films and TV series including “Duets”, “Sphere”, “Back to the Future”, “Short Cuts”, “Just Shoot me!”, and “The King of Queens”.
Huey and the band continue to perform together and currently do over 80 concerts a year.
