
Barbara Mandrell (Born 1948 in Houston, TX) is an Award Winning American Singer, and Actress. She was one of the most popular performers in Country Music during the 1970′s and 1980′s. Among her many Awards in her long career are 2 CMA Entertainer of the Year Awards, 2 CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Awards, 5 Academy of Country Music Awards, 2 Grammy Awards, and dozens of others. She is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. She has had a total of 42 singles chart in the Top-40 of the US Country Music Charts. Some of her classic hits include “Sleeping single in a double bed”, “If loving you is wrong (I Don’t want to be right)”, “I was country when country wasn’t cool”, “Years”, “Till your gone”, “Only a lonely heart knows”, “Married but not to each other” and countless others. From 1980-1982 her, and her sisters, starred in the TV Variety Show “Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters”. Barbara has also appeared on many TV series including “Walker Texas Ranger”, “Empty Nest”, “Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman”, “The Commish”, “Baywatch”, “Sunset Beach”, and has starred in a number of made-for-TV movies.

Barbara is not a songwriter. Where did you get your information that she was? I am a long time loyal fan but do not like to see her credited with something she did not. She recorded one song that she wrote…(When I Count My Blessings) I Count You. It was a filler song that she put on one LP. She wrote this song for her husband and this is why she recorded it.
