
Robert Duvall (Born 1931 in San Diego, CA) is an Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, and Emmy Award winning American Actor, Writer, Producer, and Director and one of the truly great Character Actors of our generation. He got his start in Television starting in 1960 and went on to appear in many of the popular show of that era including “The Untouchables”, “Route 66″, “The Outer Limits”, “The Fugitive”, “Combat!”, “The FBI”, and many others. His film career started in the late 1960′s and includes roles in such films as “Bullitt”, “True Grit”, “THX 1138″, “M*A*S*H”, “The Godfather”, “Joe Kidd”, “The Godfather Part 2″, “The Eagle has Landed”, “Network”, “To Kill a Mockingbird”, “Apocalypse Now”, “The Great Santini”, “The Natural”, “Days of Thunder”, “Tender Mercies”, “The Apostle”, “Deep Impact”, “Open Range”, “A Civil Action”, “Sling Blade”, and countless others. His resume also includes a starring role in the popular TV Miniseries “Lonesome Dove”. He has been nominated for 6 Academy Awards and won the Best Actor Oscar in 1984 for the film “Tender Mercies”. He has been nominated for 6 Golden Globe Awards with 4 wins and was nominated for 4 Emmy Awards with 1 career win. His Producing credits total 10 films including “Tender Mercies” and “The Apostle”. His writing credits include 3 films, and his directing credits include 4 Films including “The Apostle” and “Assassination Tango”. The son of an Admiral in the US NAVY, he was a veteran of the US ARMY in the early 1950′s. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk-of-Fame.
