
Annie Potts (Born 1952 in Franklin, Kentucky) is a Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominated American Television and Film actress best known for her role on the long-running sitcom “Designing Women”. Her Hollywood career started in 1977 and has included roles in films such as “Corvette Summer”, “Ghostbusters”, “Pretty in Pink”, “Ghostbusters 2″, “Texasville”, “Toy Story”, “Toy Story 2″, and many others. Her television credits include starring roles on “Designing Women”, “Any day now”, and “Love and War” and appearances on shows such as “Law and Order: SVU”, “Men in Trees”, “Joan of Arcadia”, “Magnum PI”, “Remington Steele”, and many others. Was originally cast as the murderous woman in “Fatal Attraction” but dropped out to take the role on “Designing Women”. The film role then went to Glenn Close.
