
Richard Gere (Born 1949 in Philadelphia, PA) is a Golden Globe Award winning American Actor and Producer. In a Hollywood career that started on Television in 1973, Gere has gone on to star in a large number of highly successful theatrical films including “Looking for Mr. Goodbar”, “American Gigolo”, “Yanks”, “An Officer and a Gentleman”, “The Cotton Club”, “No Mercy”, “Breathless”, “Pretty Woman”, “Internal Affairs”, “First Knight”, “Primal Fear”, “Red Corner”, “Runaway Bride”, “Dr. T and the Women”, “Chicago”, “Unfaithful”, “The Hoax”, “Nights in Rodanthe”, and countless others. His Golden Globe win was for the film “Chicago”. Over the years, he has served as Executive Producer on six of his films. He is a devout Buddhist and has spent decades travelling the globe supporting various Humanitarian causes. Formerly married to model/actress Cindy Crawford, he is currently married to actress Carey Lowell. Has turned down a number of leading roles over the years including the leads in “Die Hard” and “Wall Street”.
