
Billy Crystal (Born 1948 in Long Beach, NY) is a Emmy Award winning American Actor, Comedian, Writer, Producer, and Director, along with being a frequent host of the Academy Awards Presentation telecasts.
While already a successful stand-up comedian, his Television career started in 1975 and includes roles and appearances on shows such as “Soap”, “The Love Boat”, “Simon and Simon”, “All in the Family”, “Frasier”, “Friends”, and as a featured performer on “Saturday Night Live” in 1984 and 1985. His film career includes roles in “The Princess Bride”, “When Harry Met Sally”, “City Slickers”, “Forget Paris”, “City Slickers 2″, “My Giant”, “Analyze This”, “Throw Momma from the Train”, “America’s Sweethearts”, “Analyze That”, “Monsters Inc”, “Mr. Saturday Night”, “Fathers Day”, and many others. His Directing credits include “Forget Paris”, “Mr. Saturday Night”, and the made for HBO film 61*. To date, he has hosted the Academy Awards eight times in his career. A huge New York Yankees Baseball fan, he is part-owner of the Arizona Diamondbacks. He has received 17 Emmy Award nominations with 5 wins, 3 Golden Globe Award nominations, and has a Star on the Hollywood Walk-of-Fame.
