Mariska Hargitay

Mariska Hargitay (Born 1964 in Santa Monica, Ca) is a Golden Globe Award and Emmy Award winning American Actress best known for her current starring role as Detective Olivia Benson on “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit”. Other Television credits include
“Falcon Crest”, “Baywatch”, “Wiseguy”, “Thirtysomething”, “ER”, and the episode of “Seinfeld” titled “The Pilot” in which Mariska played one of the actresses auditioning to play Elaine Benes in the pilot that Jerry and George had written. She has starred on “Law and Order: SVU since 1999 and has recieved 6 Emmy Award nominations (1 Win) and 2 Golden Globe Award nominations (1 Win) for her role on the show. She is the daughter of Hollywood Sex Symbol of the 50′s and 60′s Jayne Mansfield and bodybuilder and entertainer Mickey Hargitay. Her mother was killed in 1967 in an auto accident. Mariska and two brothers were asleep in the back seat of the car at the time of the accident but were not seriously hurt.
