She has starred on “Law and Order: SVU since 1999 and has recieved 6 Emmy Award nominations (1 Win) and 2 Golden Globe Award nominations (1 Win) for her role on the show. GOOGLE, or any of the other dozens of Internet search engines can be a useful friend in your quest for celebrity autographs.

Out of all of today’s celebrity actors, actresses, authors, models, sports stars, singers, politicians, news anchors, reality stars, has-beens, wanna-be’s, and D-listers…….you would be surprised at just how many of these people have their own websites.

If you want an autograph and don’t have a picture that you want to mail the celebrity, try using GOOGLE or any of the other search engines.

Many celebs with websites will have an EMAIL CONTACT link on their page that you can use to contact them directly. Others will list an email for their management company or publicist. You can always send a fan email to these addresses because you never know, they may very well be forwarded on to the celebrity after being screened to make sure you are not some slack-jawed knuckle dragging deranged psychopath who literally wants to eat the celebrity for lunch….

When searching for your celeb on a search engine, make sure that the site you go to is listed as being the “official” site of that celeb and not one of the thousands of “fan” sites created by everyday lugs like you or I.

Many of the lesser known celebs will have websites, MYSPACE, or FACEBOOK pages that you can use to try to contact them about an autograph. If you see that the celeb is offering autographed photos FOR SALE on his/her website, you can pretty much rule out sending them an email to request an autograph. You will have to pay up just like everyone else.

Many of today’s top stars also have sites but I tend to think that getting an autograph via email from many of them is pretty hard. A notable exception is Shirley Maclaine who sent a great autographed 8×10 after I sent her an email via her website.

So…..looking to save on postage? GOOGLE your celeb!

If they have a contact link on the website, send them a personal fan message, nicely ask for an autograph, and sit back and keep your fingers crossed.

So, far…I have gotten over 75 autographs through personal websites.

And all were FREE. In this rotten economy, you can’t beat FREE.

John Sebastian (born 1944 in New York, NY) is an American Singer/Songwriter best known as the Founder and lead singer of the popular 1960′s band “The Lovin Spoonful”. The group charted ten Top-40 hits during the 60′s including “Do you believe in Magic?”, “Daydream”, “Summer in the City”, “You didn’t have to be so nice”, “Did you ever have to make up your mind?” and many others. The Lovin Spoonful were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. John Sebastian was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2008. After leaving the Lovin Spoonful in 1968, he performed solo at the famed Woodstock Festival and later, he charted a solo hit in 1976 with the song “Welcome Back” which was used as the opening theme for the popular 70′s sitcom “Welcome Back Kotter”. Mr. Sebastian was kind enough to send this photo after I emailed him via his website.

Steve Martin (Born 1945 in Waco, TX) is a Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominated, and Grammy Award winning American Actor, Producer, Director, Writer, Musician, and Comedian. He started as one of the most successful stand-up comedians of the 1970′s and released a string of very popular comedy albums. He won Grammy Awards for Best Comedy Album in both 1977 and 1978. A song, “King Tut”, off of one of the albums reached #18 on the Billboard Top-40 Music Charts in 1978. He was a frequent guest on ‘The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson” and later was a frequent guest-host on “Saturday Night Live”. He has appeared on “SNL” a record 25 times as a host or guest star over the course of his career. His “SNL” created skits with Dan Aykroyd as “The Festrunk Bothers” (“We are….2 Wild… and Crazy Guys!!”) has remained as one the best loved series of skits in the shows history. Betty White (Born 1922 in Oak Park, IL) is a Emmy Award winning American Television, Film, and Stage Actress. In a Hollywood career that started in 1945, Ms. White has forged a career that has seen her become one of Hollywood’s most beloved Female lead and character actresses. In a reversal of the norm, her career has continued to flourish and even grow larger with each passing year. She is best known for two signature Television roles, as Sue Ann Niven on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”, and as Rose Nylund on “The Golden Girls”. Her very extensive Television resume includes appearances on shows such as “The Love Boat”, “Empty Nest”, “Who’s the Boss?”, “St. Elsewhere”, “Hotel”, “Suddenly Susan”, “Ally McBeal”, “That 70′s Show”, “Malcolm in the Middle”, “Boston Legal”, “Mama’s Family”, and literally dozens of other shows. She has also appeared on a number of Daytime Soaps including “Another World”, “The Bold and the Beautiful”, and “Santa Barbara”. Her film resume includes “Lake Placid”, “The Proposal”, “Bringing down the House”, “Hard Rain”, and others. His many other films have included “Scooby-Doo”, “My Stepmother is an Alien”, “Big Business”, “Can’t buy me love”, “Enemy of the State”, “America’s Sweethearts”, “Rat Race”, “The Italian Job”, “Scooby-Doo 2″, “Without a Paddle”, “Sex Drive”, “Old Dogs”, the “Austin Powers” trilogy of films and many others. His Television career includes regular roles on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, “Greg the Bunny”, “Robot Chicken”, and “Family Guy” along with appearances on dozens of shows such as “Evening Shade”, “The X-Files”, “Mad about You”, “The Drew Carey Show”, “Angel”, “That 70′s Show”, “MAD TV”, “Will and Grace”, “Entourage”, “My Name is Earl”, “Reno 911″, “Heroes”, “American Dad”, and many others. He has been nominated for 3 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Animated Program for “Robot Chicken”.
